In August 2022, the "Source Network Load Storage Integration" project of Three Gorges Group in Ulanqab carried out the commissioning work of various new energy storage dynamic modeling platforms in the park. The Ben An Shanghai battery dynamic modeling system was successfully debugged once and put into testing operation.
The dynamic simulation system adopts energy storage bidirectional DC/DC connected to the DC bus, and is connected to the power grid through PCS. The power grid simulation device is used to simulate the operating conditions such as changes in power grid frequency, load fluctuations, and voltage changes, and to test various indicators of the battery system prototype.
During the testing period, all parties conducted adaptability tests on the system, including voltage, frequency, power quality, power control, power factor regulation capability, overload capability, and low voltage ride through test, all of which met the requirements of the power grid dispatch operation specifications. The charging and discharging adjustment time, conversion time, rated energy storage power test, and conversion efficiency test of the energy storage system all meet the testing requirements.

Introduction to the Three Gorges Group's "Source Network Load Storage" Technology Research and Development Experimental Base
In order to promote the coordinated development of "source, grid, load and storage" and build a benchmark for the development of modern energy economy in Inner Mongolia, China Three Gorges Group, together with more than 20 domestic top scientific research institutions such as Tsinghua University, North China Electric Power University, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Tianjin University, has carried out research and demonstration on key issues such as energy storage technology, grid connection technology, integrated dispatching technology and business model that need to be solved urgently in the current industry, and designed and built 13 scientific research demonstration projects and 2 laboratories in Ulanqab.
The "Source Grid Load Storage" technology research and development test base is one of the important measures taken by Three Gorges Group to respond to the "carbon neutrality" goal, actively explore the implementation path of "source grid load storage", solve the core problems in large-scale new energy grid integration and consumption, serve the strategic needs of the country's large-scale development of new energy, and promote China's energy transformation and economic and social development. Three Gorges Group has established a research and development experimental base for "source network load storage" technology, which integrates research and development functions, empirical functions, and application functions. It explores new energy system solutions for "source network load storage" and forms a replicable and promotable technical route and solution for the "source network load storage" new energy system.
