On January 30, 2023, the groundbreaking ceremony for the high safety sodium ion battery base project of Benan Energy Technology Jiangsu Co., Ltd. was held in Taicang Science and Technology Industrial Park, Jiangsu. Hu Weijiang, Deputy Secretary and Mayor of Taicang City, Xu Zhiqiang, Deputy Secretary of Taicang City, and other relevant leaders attended the event. Representatives of shareholders including Xue Cunhe, President of SoftBank China Capital, Wang Yi, Deputy Secretary of the Chengxiang Town Party Committee, and employees of Benan Energy Jiangsu Company witnessed the historic new journey of the company's foundation laying ceremony.

Before the groundbreaking ceremony, Hu Weijiang, Xu Zhiqiang and their delegation had in-depth talks with the company's chairman and shareholder representatives on expanding business and deepening exchanges and cooperation.

The production base in Taicang, Jiangsu, under the umbrella of BENAN Energy, is an important link in BENAN Energy's capacity expansion to meet the rapidly growing market orders. The factory covers an area of 50 acres, with an initial planned production capacity of 500 MWh. The first phase is expected to be completed by mid-2023 and gradually reach a scale of 2GWh in the next two years.

As a pioneer enterprise in the commercialization and industrialization of high safety sodium batteries, Benan Energy Taicang Base will be based on the Jiakun Tai collaborative innovation core circle, utilize its location advantages, coordinate upstream and downstream industrial effects, integrate industry capabilities, promote the extension of the new energy storage battery industry, and create an ecological industrial chain.
